ForeFlight version 9.0.1 improves the User Map Shapes feature by no longer requiring you to enter the extension “.ffkml” to your filename. Additionally, you don’t need to restart the app for new shapefiles to appear in the layer selector – ForeFlight automatically detects when you add them and updates the list. In case you missed it, we have a helpful video for getting started with importing and displaying KML files, and our dedicated KML support page provides guidance on supported shapes and other data types.
This release also fixes an issue that disabled ForeFlight’s Apple Watch extension and includes additional bug fixes and improvements. As always, we’re on frequency at team@foreflight.com if you experience any issues with the update.
