Augmented SID/STAR Fix Labels, Takeoff Runway Intersection, and more in ForeFlight’s October release!

Our October release features Augmented SID/STAR Fix Labels, Takeoff Runway Intersection support in Runway Analysis, and added aircraft support for Runway Analysis.

Augmented SID/STAR Fix Labels

Previously limited to approaches, you can now view Jeppesen-sourced speed and altitude limits for each fix in departure and arrival procedures using Augmented Procedure markers on the Aeronautical Map, Procedure Advisor, and 3D Preview. Augmented Procedures are available with a Performance Plus subscription plan, and are available whether or not you’ve linked or purchased Jeppesen chart coverages.

When choosing a departure or arrival and its associated transition in Procedure Advisor, you can now directly view speed and altitude limits in the route preview. Access Procedure Advisor on the Maps view in FPL > Procedure.

View Fix Labels in 3D View by tapping the 3D icon along the bottom of the FPL window.

Runway Analysis: Takeoff Runway Intersection

Specify a runway intersection as your takeoff starting point and ForeFlight will automatically incorporate the reduced runway length into its Takeoff Analysis calculation.

From the Flights tab, tap the Takeoff button for your departure airport.

Within the Takeoff Analysis page, choose a runway for your departure.

Once you choose a runway, tap the Intersection field directly below to choose from available intersections for that runway.

The remaining usable length is shown next to each intersection option, and you can also specify a custom takeoff run available (TORA) by tapping Custom and manually entering a length value.

Once you’ve selected an intersection or specified a custom TORA, ForeFlight will automatically calculate and display the Remaining Usable Length in a new field, which you can further adjust manually if necessary.

The selected intersection and associated Remaining Usable Length value are included in the Runway Analysis section of your Flight Summary document, including in the Max Takeoff Weight Analysis section that displays all potential intersections for the available runways.

Runway Analysis is available as an add-on to ForeFlight Performance subscription plans for supported jet and turboprop models.

New Runway Analysis Aircraft Support

ForeFlight Runway Analysis also now supports Dassault’s Falcon 50/50EX/50EX w/ API Winglets and Textron’s Citation XLS Gen 2.
