Our November release features Frequencies in Airspace Alerts, New Regions, Brazilian Chart Data, and Oceanic Plotting for Business Aviation.
Frequencies in Airspace Alerts
Controlled airspace alerts provide instant access to crucial frequency information worldwide. Radio frequencies are displayed as you approach an airspace, eliminating the need for in-depth airspace information searches.
You can optionally hide the airspace frequencies or customize the alerts in other ways in Map Settings > Alerts > Airspace & NOTAMs.
Controlled airspace classes A, B, and C show all associated frequencies besides tower and any secondary frequencies.
Classes D, ATZ, and MATZ only show tower frequencies.
Airspace class TMZ will show the squawk code and the frequency.
New ForeFlight Regions
We’re preparing to expand our worldwide chart and data support by introducing new subscription regions that cover the rest of the globe. The new regions include Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, Asia and the Pacific, and New Zealand, and are available for purchase now at foreflight.com/buy.
As part of our ongoing efforts to offer global chart and data coverage, we will introduce new data for these regions as they become available, allowing customers with these regions to immediately benefit from the new resources at no additional cost. To explore the specific features and data currently available in each country around the world, visit foreflight.com/country-support, and stay tuned for future updates!
New Country Support: Brazil
Brazilian government charts, data, and documents are now available in ForeFlight as part of the newly introduced Latin America region.
To access this expanded coverage, purchase a new subscription or renew your current subscription at foreflight.com/buy and select the Latin America region, with or without other regions that you fly in.
Once you have added the Latin America region to your subscription, you can easily download Brazilian charts and data by going to More > Downloads > Region Settings > Latin America within ForeFlight and selecting Brazil. Make sure to also select the types of charts and data you need in the Data Settings menu to ensure they’re downloaded and available for inflight use.
Oceanic Plotting in Active Navlog
ForeFlight’s Active Navlog product for Business accounts now supports full-fledged Oceanic Plotting in conjunction with a ForeFlight Dispatch subscription.
Pilots can easily access Active Navlog for any upcoming flight by going to More > Active Navlog and selecting from the list of flights, or by opening the printable PDF Navlog from the Flights view and tapping the “Go to Active Navlog” button in the bottom-right.
Active Navlog allows pilots to record time and fuel actuals, altimeter checks, ATC clearances, and more, while customers who also have ForeFlight Dispatch can additionally activate non-radar procedures in Active Navlog to record position reports and GNE checks.
Each position report and GNE check is automatically documented in the master flight log, accompanied by a corresponding screenshot, ensuring a thorough and comprehensive record that is automatically synced to the flight in Dispatch for easy retrieval.
