A New Aviation Keyboard, New Categories for Reported Turbulence, and More in ForeFlight’s Latest Release!

Our latest release features a new Aviation Keyboard, new categories for Reported Turbulence, and new Runway Analysis aircraft support.

Aviation Keyboard

Streamline your waypoint entry and note taking with the perfect keyboard for pilots. This keyboard option simplifies symbol entry for pilots with a top row of numbers (0-9) and features two versions: an alphanumeric keyboard and a number keyboard, with right- and left-handed modes.

Tap the button above the keyboard to switch between the old and new keyboards, and tap the number button in the bottom-left for a coordinate-friendly numpad.

The Aviation Keyboard is enabled by default but can be disabled in More > Settings > Preferences.

New Categories for Reported Turbulence

Intermediate turbulence categories have been added to better convey when most of a report period has lower turbulence severity with moments of more severe turbulence.

The two new categories that have been added are ‘Intermittent Light’ and ‘Light to Moderate’.

Reported Turbulence is available with Pro Plus subscriptions and above by registering your Sentry or Sentry Plus device at plan.foreflight.com/account or as an add-on.

Military Flight Bag: Enhanced Traffic Icons

A new toggle in Map Settings now depicts aircraft types on the map using ADS-B traffic in ForeFlight.

The new depictions are based on ADS-B emitter categories (values 0-21).

This new depiction enhances situational awareness and traffic management by allowing pilots to quickly identify and differentiate aircraft types on the map using ADS-B traffic.

Available for MFB One subscription plans.

New Runway Analysis Aircraft Support

ForeFlight’s advanced Runway Analysis product for turbine aircraft now supports the Textron Hawker 4000.
